Edition One: The Reading Hour. The doors open soon.
A letter from the maison

Our why

I was named for two women called Betty.

One kept her paperbacks the way other people keep secrets: spines cracked, corners turned down, margins full of arguments she was winning with the author. The other believed that if a thing was worth doing, it was worth doing with the good glass, the fresh flowers, and absolutely no rush whatsoever. Neither of them would have called any of this an aesthetic. It was simply how a day was meant to be treated: like it deserved you.

Betty Jaletti is the house I built to keep their opinion alive.

We make small, useful, unreasonably pretty things for the ones who still do it the long way on purpose. Who make the coffee themselves because they have the cup for it. Who highlight in ink, without apology. Who buy the bouquet for a Tuesday.

Everything here is made in small, numbered pressings: one edition, pressed once, and never again. When the doors close, the edition retires: no restocks, no reprints, no endless shelf. Your number is inked and your parcel packed by hand, by the house, before it goes to the post. This is not the fast-fashion way. That's rather the point: it's yours, and there will never be another run of it.

Take the long way home.

Oh Betty Jaletti is an American maison for the ones who take the slow way: small, numbered editions of useful, unreasonably pretty things, beginning with objects for the reading hour. Each edition is pressed once and never reprinted.
