The First Edition: The Reading Hour. Each edition is produced with intention and released in considered quantities.
First to press: The Chaperone
The heirloom book cover of Edition One: a coat for your paperback, cut from European linen, with an inner pocket for what you’re keeping. One size, fitted to hardcovers and trade paperbacks alike. The first piece of The Reading Hour to reach the press.
Imagery represents the developing vision for Edition One. Final materials, details, and availability may evolve as each piece is brought to life.
The companion pieces
Edition One is taking shape around The Chaperone, with a commonplace book, a reading candle, and a drinking glass being thoughtfully developed as companion pieces.
A note from the house
I was named for two women called Betty. One kept her paperbacks the way other people keep secrets; the other believed anything worth doing was worth the good glass, the fresh flowers, and no rush whatsoever. This house keeps their opinion alive: small, useful, unreasonably pretty things, for the ones who still do it the long way on purpose.
